Hello friends!
My name is Karen Torino and I am one of three co-founders of Pre-Med Ahead. I am currently a sophomore at Florida State University on the pre-nursing track and I am your go-to gal for anything nursing. Officially, I entered the school as a psychology major, but along the way I discovered my true passion for working with individuals while improving their physical and mental state to the best of my ability.
As of now, I have two full semesters left before I apply to the FSU nursing school, but I have all the information regarding requirements, recommendations, and how to make the best of your years before applying. I currently volunteer in the Surgical Care Unit in my local hospital under a head nurse who happens to be a teacher’s assistant in the nursing school. In addition, I volunteer at the local homeless shelter in my area. Also, I am part of a club originated by nursing students and I am on the fundraising committee for my school’s Public Health Brigades club. Through research and communication with nurses, advisors, and fellow nursing students, I hope to provide answers to all the questions you may have.
My ultimate goal as a member of Pre-Med Ahead is to provide a space where pre-nursing students can come together and provide support, have various help resources in one site, and share solutions to struggles.
Please feel free to send me a message directly, or reference me if getting in contact with us. I am more than open to suggestions for blogs and I would love to hear what you fellow nurses have to say. I look forward to reading your messages!
Thank you,
Karen Torino
